For a "gimmick based on non logic", take a look at the bands whose "black metal" has a large number of similarities to New Age elevator music ( encouraging self development, wishing to enlighten humanity, using sweet acoustic guitar and keyboard sounds ). The bands I support are pure negativity both musically and otherwise, as it must be. Every "orthodox" band I have heard had members well into their twenties; fifteen year olds invariably seem to play some sort of gothic, pro-nature, suicidal, viking or Tolkien garbage.
