Like older Deeds of Flesh (and some other Unique Leader stuff), the riffs are really awesome but harder to hear because of the production. It's just more of a strain on your ears to have to listen to poor production. The music of lots of metal bands is already really chaotic and unpredictable, so being able to hear it better helps you appreciate the riffs and song structures.
