hardcore/punk/emo/other crap aren't really underground anymore...it's become trendy to associate with that whole scene. whereas metal is concerned, there are more people who genuinely love the music, but just so happen to be the types to stick with their group of friends because most people in the world suck ass and it's a waste of time interacting with them
