pretty bad turn out (imho) for a show like this. a bunch of the earlier bands played for like 10 people. the later bands it slowly filled up for. I think by the end there was maybe 100 people in the building.
For a small crowd there was tons of females trying to get backstage. I also saw one of the new uses for cellphone cams that i've read about on the web, upskirt shots. I had never seen that before, I guess the only "proper" use of technology is to abuse it to the perverse.

main stage
guerra: a local death metal band. some of it reminded me of sepultura mixed with straight up DM.

desolution: dying-ish death metal. the singer kept making hilarious faces at me.

jungle rot: they actually have jungle rot comic books for sale in the front. how would have thought that jungle rot would have had a pack of slutty girls doing whatever they could to get backstage with them. I think someone said something about them having a male porn star with them, but I don't know anything about that. I'd never seen these guys before. they were pretty awesome, makes me want to check out more of their cds.

cattle decapitation: absolutely sick set. at one point travis, the singer, sent a snot rocket ito the crowd. I'm so glad I wasn't in the way of that. After watching the newest beheading video on the nerd-net, I was making very disturbing comparasions to the vocals. They even had girls on the side of the stage yelling out requests.

goatwhore: like all their sets, this was pretty intense. just an onslaught of black metal. though I'm not sure why kids in the front where all grim with corpse paint.. I mean, this is goatwhore, not immortal. the bass player in a fill-in from severed savior because the real bassplayer couldn't get out of some obligations. and their second to last song was beauty in suffering which was requested on my show last week. one of the funniest moments was when someone in the crowd said "holy fuck" and sammy (guitars/backups) snapped back "you mean unholy fuck!".

deicide: I looked at the set list before they came out and it looked pretty good. bassically a mix of everything over their almost 20 (but not quite) year career. they came out and damn, those are some jacked guys. they pretty much just banged through most of the setlist with out really pausing much. they would play a song and then stop, throw some horns, maybe make a comment and then just continue on with satan. my favorite is the "throwing the horns while still playing". I was towards the band during dead by dawn and the vocals sort of echoed off the ceiling muddying things up. that sucked cause of how clear everything was at the beginning of the night. plus towards the end of their set, the bouncers seemed more laxed on the "no moshing" rule.

second stage
burn in silence: they started their set at the same time at jungle rot so I was a little bit preoccupied. it's funny, I was just looking at pictures from 2000's goratory show too. they sounded pretty good on that stage. the singer aknowledged that you can't mosh by jumping into the crowd and singing a song from there.

what weapons bring war: they played as a 4 piece since there is now a lack of ross. the sounds was excellent for them. since they were playing at the same time as cattle decp, I was only able to catch a few songs. I did get to hear track #2 from the demo.. I would tell you the name, but I'm still figuring out the track listing on that damn cd. I think they messed up the beginning of the song that they always mess up too.

murderfist: never seen before and don't even know if i've ever heard the name before. they were ok. there were some great riffs. the singer sang in a death metal/hardcore-ish voice. sort of like NYDM, but clean with no gutterals.

sorry this simple review took me so damn long, but I was too busy taking upskirt shots of myself. If you want to see any of them, too bad cause I'm too busy with myself backstage molestering myself.
